Aslan is on the move.
Aslan is on the move.

After much consideration, I have decided to delve into the realm of Narnia for my next blog series. I had been going back and forth on what I would do, but then I realized that I had never really read all of The Chronicles of Narnia when I was young. Surprising, right? I know quite a bit about the author, C.S. Lewis, thanks to my reading about J.R.R. Tolkien, which is part of the reason I decided to go this route.

I am sure that I at least read The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. I know that I have at least seen two of the films, I actually have a story about one (might address that in this blog series), but the fact still remains I never read all the books.

This blog series will not be quite like the normal book reviews I post here. Of course, I will let you know if I liked each of the books or not, but I want to approach it like a book club discussion. I am still hashing out the specifics, but I think you will definitely enjoy the resulting posts.

What matters right now is how I am approaching the reading order and the dates I will be posting them. I have decided to go with the publication order for these texts based on some Google searches about people’s thoughts. I have also decided to post this series at the end of August, to give myself time to read all the books and develop a strong post for each of them. The intended dates are as follows:

August 19 – The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe

August 20 – Prince Caspian

August 21 – The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

August 22 – The Silver Chair

August 23 – The Horse and His Boy

August 24 – The Magician’s Nephew

August 25 – The Last Battle

I hope you will read along with me and join in with the discussion. I look forward to it!
